General guidelines for articles:  Be simple and brief; include the five w’s (who, what, when, where and why).

Deadlines:  All articles should be submitted to the editor by COB on the third Monday of every month.

Sources: All articles should cite sources where appropriate and all quotes should be attributed to their source.  If appropriate sourcing is not included with submissions, the editor reserves the right to exclude the article or ask the author to qualify the article claims.

Bylines:  Each article will include the author’s name in the byline.

Advertising and Editorial: The newsletter strives to present unbiased content which is not influenced by its advertisers.  Advertising should be placed at an appropriate distance from related content, e.g. a different 2-page spread from related content. No endorsement is intended for specific products or businesses that are advertised in the HVPN newsletter or website, nor is criticism meant for products not mentioned. Advertisements for companies and products are printed as provided. The authors and the greater Communications Committee do not represent or endorse the quality of any products, information, or other materials displayed, purchased, or obtained as part of an advertisement that appears in the HVPN newsletter or website. The Communications Committee of JMLCA specifically disclaims any liability to advertisers and readers of any kind for loss or damage of any nature whatsoever and however arising, whether due to inaccuracy, error, omission or any other cause, regardless of who is at fault, due to the use of the advertisements or other information herein.
