Farmer's Market Update
The Marymount Farmers Market Committee (MFM) has selected Marymount University’s parking lot, located at the corner of Glebe Road and Yorktown Boulevard, as the site for operating a farmers market. The market will initially start with twelve vendors and operate on Saturday mornings, beginning late May through early November of 2016.
The MFM Committee is looking for volunteers to serve on their three sub-committees; Vendor Selection, Public Relation, and Operations. The Vendor Selection committee members are responsible for visiting the producer’s farms or small businesses, and devel-oping a methodology for choosing vendors. The Public Relations committee members will be designing and organizing a web site and other social media sites to help advertise the market. The Operations committee will focus on logistics and market operations.
