The holidays are upon us, and it’s an incredibly busy time of year which is reflected by the enormous amount of content you’ll find in this issue.

Yes, we have been partying with more parties to come! See highlights from the recent Halloween event, well attended and enjoyed by all. The Thanksgiving Turkey Bowl tradition continued, and this year’s Holiday Extravaganza is a day of events for young and old alike. Hope to see you all there.

On a more serious note, we have some important news updates concerning the Lee Highway situation and planned improvements for High View Park as the last phase of enhancements are set to begin.

Next year marks an important year for High View Park—our 150th anniversary.  Start the new year off right by attending a lecture by a local expert….details inside.  We are working on some ideas to commemorate this rich history in our newsletter.  Stay tuned! Other events are currently being planned and volunteers are needed. If you’d like to help commemorate this important milestone and can offer your talents and time to help, contact Carmela Hamm, 804-266-4314,

Finally, you may have noticed our newsletter has a new look and feel. We’re starting fresh in the neighborhood as we combine our history with all the new folks who are now part of our diverse and dynamic community. Why not reflect these changes in our newsletter….hope you’re enjoying it, and as always I welcome your ideas and contributions. Let me know! Just shoot me an e-mail to

Enough said…time to enjoy family, friends and our community during this festive time of year. I wish you the best throughout this season of celebration.
