The 2016 Alfred J. Forman Sr. Turkey Bowl was well attended on the grounds of Glebe Elementary School. For more than 50 years, this Thanksgiving football game has been an historical African American staple in the Halls Hill community, pitting the "Youngens" vs. "Oldies".

Kudos to Arlington County Recreation Department staff who worked with the Turkey Bowl committee to relocate the game due to construction at High View Park. This year the Turkey Bowl awarded its first Alfred J. Forman Scholarship to Quimari Mullins, who plans on attending college in the fall of 2017.

Congratulations to the "Oldies" as the winner of this year's game, the MVPs of the "Oldies" team, the "Youngens" along with the refs and members of the Turkey Bowl committee.

Congratulations also to the two recipients of the Turkey Bowl raffle, who each received a Turkey dinner from Harris Teeter. We look forward to seeing everyone next year.
