Urgent! Donations Sought for Calloway Methodist Church 150 Year Celebration

Calloway Methodist Church, organized in 1866, is our community’s first church. Its history is significant; it was a gathering spot for thousands who traveled here to participate in Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s “Poor People’s March on Washington.”

The church plans an October 1 celebration and has identified several non-profits they would like to support to honor the occasion. JMLCA has been asked to help gather items needed and has chosen Doorways for Women and Families as our beneficiary organization. To meet their goal, the Citizens Association will collect 150 items, specifically: Pull ups (3-4T, boys and girls), toilet paper, and paper towels.

These items will be presented to the non-profits at an event scheduled for October 1.

We need your help. Please help us reach our goal of 150 by making a donation of pull-ups, toilet paper or paper towels.

It’s simple to donate:  drop off all items at 5128 N 22nd Street Arlington, Va, 22207; or bring to the September 28 Association meeting at Langston Brown Community Center.
